Patients of Dr. Dan can feel at ease about all of the dental mishaps that may occur in their lives. Accidents like broken brackets and chipped teeth are a normal part of life. When these accidents happen, there’s no need to panic–you can give Showtime Smiles a call so that we can administer emergency care to you as soon as possible.
Orthodontic Emergency Care
When you have extra gear in your mouth, there are more accidents that may happen. Luckily, we are always prepared to work with you and make your life more comfortable. Some of the more common orthodontic emergencies include the following:
- Loose brackets
- Broken brackets
- Loose wires
- Protruding or uncomfortable wires
- Soreness that won’t go away
To relieve any pain you are experiencing before your visit to your emergency dentist, you can use ice packs or take over-the-counter pain relievers like Tylenol or Advil. For poking or protruding wires and brackets, you can dab a small amount of wax onto the area to increase smoothness and decrease irritation.
Pediatric Emergency Care
When your young one has a bad toothache or even knocks out a tooth, you want to make things better–and fast. Dr. Dan provides pediatric emergency care for his young patients who have problems like the following:
- Tooth knocked out (baby tooth or permanent tooth)
- Chipped, fractured, or broken tooth
- A consistent and painful toothache
Bring any knocked out teeth or pieces of chipped teeth with you when you visit your emergency pediatric dentist. If possible, keep teeth in the socket or in liquid like milk or water with salt. Again, your child can take over-the-counter medications like Children’s Tylenol for temporary pain relief. If you experience a more serious issue like a fractured jaw or a hard hit to the head, visit your doctor or call a medical team as soon as possible.
We care about providing you and your family with emergency dental care when you need it. You can always give us a call when you have an emergency.
